El agua oxigenada en crema, en combinación con el tinte en la proporción 1:1, provoca la oxidación del mismo y colorea el cabello sobre el que se ha aplicado. Al mezclar una parte de agua oxigenada en crema con otra parte de tinte, el agua oxigenada presente en la mezcla decolora el cabello, y sobre esta base decolorada se fija el tinte.
El agua oxigenada en crema, puede aplicarse con cualquier tinte, teniendo en cuenta que cada coloración precisa de unos volúmenes determinados.
