Terms and Conditions for European Students

HOW TO APPLY:

The Work Experience Programme is designed for students, graduates and young job seekers aged between 18-35 who have a EU (European Union) or EEA (European Economic Area) nationality and are interested in a work experience placement relevant to their educational background, previous training and vocational skills.

TYPE OF PLACEMENTS:

The most commonly requested areas for placements are: Office Administration and Tourism (Examples: travel agencies, schools of languages, computing companies, tourism offices etc). However, other areas are also possible. Please consult in any case. In general, placement will be located in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), but some of them will be offered in the city centre (Madrid) and villages near to. Other areas in Spain are also possible, as for example Barcelona or Sevilla. These placements are unpaid (in some cases some employers could pay a contribution towards the participant´s daily travel card or lunch expenses, but this is not obligatory for the company).

DURATION OF PLACEMENTS:

Minimum of 4 weeks (Please consult in any case)

PROGRAMME FEE AND SERVICES:

• From 4-10 weeks: 330 EUROS.
• From 11 weeks: 400 EUROS.

The payment must be done in two parts:

• Registration fee when the student applies for the programme: 90 Euros.
• Confirmation of placement in the company: 240 euros or 310 euros depending on the length of stay.

If Iberlingua Alcala cancels the programme, because it is not possible tot find a placement for the student, the registration fee (90 Euros) would be refunded except 35 euros).

The programme fee includes the following services:

• Search of company for the intership placement.
• Confirmation of placement.
• General information about place where the company is: map, transport information etc.

• Arrangement of accommodation, if required by the student. The cost for accommodation is not included in the price. Please see attachements.

Other services at an additional price:

• Collection at the airport.
• Spanish course arrangement, if the student requires it.
• Information about cultural visits.

ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE:

The following complete documents must be mailed to Iberlingua Alcalá for registration with at least 3 months in advance:

• Enrolment Form (to by typed or completed in block letters only).
• English typed CV: giving relevant details about educational background and previous work experience.
• 4 passport photos.
• Reference letters.
• Certificates of courses, etc.
• Payment of the registration fee (90 Euros) to Iberlingua´s bank account.

To be covered during the participant stay, he/she has to prepare the document E-111 or E-128 and must bring it to Spain to be covered inside and outside work. The student is advised to go to the Social Security office of his/her country, in the order to be informed about the document he/she has to bring to Spain.

It is also advisable to bring a Private Insurance which covers Repatriation and Third Party Liability. It is only responsibility of the student to bring this Private Insurance.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATIONS:

The student will need to make the payment in euros after the confirmation of a suitable placement. The full payment must be done at least 20 days before commencement date of the programme.

Once the student is in Spain and in case the student is dissatisfied with his/her placement, payment will not automatically be refunded. Alternative placement cannot be guaranteed, although we will try to either negotiate with the employer concerned or to provide a second placement where possible.

Any refunds of payment will only be made where we believe the individual circunstances are justified. Refunds will never be more that the fee paid for work placement by the student.

IMPORTANT: Please note, that you must pay all bank charges when making financial transactions. Bank charges must not be deducted from payment to Iberlingua Alcalá. Please add 8 euros to the payment if it´s done by Bank transfer.

Living with a Spanish family is a very good opportunity to practise the language and experience the cultural aspects of Spain. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Our families are well connected with public transports.

Single room/breakfast:    12 Euros/day

Double room/breakfast:    10 Euros/day

Single room/half board:    17 Euros/day

Double room/half board:    15 Euros/day

Single room/full board:    20 Euros/day

Double room/full board:    18 Euros/day

In some cases some families offer self-catering accommodation, that is, accommodation together with use of part of the kitchen facilities. However, we cannot assure this in all cases.

The price would be:

Single room self-catering:    10 Euros/day

Double room self-catering:    8 Euros/day

ACCOMMODATION IN MADRID

Single room/breakfast:    14 euros/day

Double room/breakfast:    12 euros/day

Single room/half board:    22 euros/day

Double room/half board:    20 euros/day

Single room/full board:    25 euros/day

Double room/full board:    23 euros/day
